Happy Birthday Wee-Wee!

Emma is SIX today! I was planning to make these Peter Rabbit cupcakes but our stuff still hasn't arrived from the move...so I ordered them from a cupcake shop. They are carrot cake flavor– get it? Anyway, Emma had a great birthday weekend. We had waffles at the farmer's market and Chuck E Cheese for lunch on Saturday. Today we had our little party for her. The cupcakes were delicious, and she loved all her gifts. Thanks Memaw, Pepaw, Papa Wes, and GG for what you sent!

Settling into Boise

We've been in Boise for two weeks. The first week was kind of a hard adjustment, but we're starting to settle in now. We've had a lot of fun at the farmer's market, parks, and rivers. And it doesn't hurt that we found a house too!

Road Trip

Last week on Friday morning, we packed our remaining stuff in our cars and hit the road. The days were LONG, but went smoothly. We spent our first night with Aunt Ginger in Albuquerque– thanks Ginger! The 2nd day was spent going through Colorado & Utah. Utah was especially amazing. We had to pull over for several photos and one impromptu hike. The 3rd night we pulled into Boise. So...we're here. And the house hunting is already underway.

Family Times

After we packed & cleaned our house, we stuffed our cars full and drove to Abilene for a few days. The Griffin grandparents came up to join the fun too.

Harlem Shake (by "The Fam" featuring Lil' Morgie)

When my parents visited us for Easter, my mom introduced us– via youtube– to the phenomenon known as the "Harlem Shake". She said she wanted to do one with our family, but we kind of brushed it off. But last week, while we were staying in Abilene for a couple days prior to our move, the subject came up again. This time the ball got rolling and even Memaw C joined in. It was a memorable and strange last hurrah.

Pack It Up and Move It Out

Saturday May 27th. Total moving chaos. The Smith and Williams families helped us stuff our U-haul pods full, which proved to be a tremendous amount of work for just the 3 guys. Faith pretty much led me around by the hand. I was overwhelmed and kind of out of it. The kids- all dozen of them–lived out a "lord of the flies" scenario in the backyard all day.
