Last Weekend w/ the Griffins...

...and the Hopkins. Last weekend we did it all (again). On our way down to the Austin area for a family get together, we stopped by Waco to visit Kate & Ryan in their new apartment with their new baby. Our kids really like their new cousin ans they both tried to go in for a kiss at the same time.
After the visit in Waco, we headed down to Liberty Hill for a couple of days. Papa Wes made his trademark waffles and then we took the kids to the park on Friday morning. That afternoon we all drove to Canyon Lake for a celebration of what would have been PawPaw's 90th birthday. Morgan & Emma love spending time with cousin Sylvia. And we got to see some great old slides.
On Saturday, Matt & I bailed on the kids and spent the afternoon in Austin. We got to do some shopping, tour our old stompin' grounds, see a movie, and eat at my favorite place (Cheesecake Factory). Meanwhile, the kids had a date of their own- to eat pizza and then get ice cream at McDonald's. Thanks PapaWes & GG!

Weekend Projects, Etc.

Last weekend we began cleaning out the sheds and garage in preparation for the remodeling project we hope will shortly commence. We both spent a lot of time going through childhood keepsakes and other stuff, and the kids had a great time dressing up and playing with our old stuff. Morgan is currently obsessed with the "Kitty Surprise" mama cat and kittens I had as a little girl, and Emma is in possession of one of my baby dolls, assorted beanie babies, and a Raggedy Ann.
Also in this post I've included pics of the kids walking on Matt's back, which for some reason provides them endless enjoyment. And if you're wondering what Morgan is wearing, don't even bother. He has been throwing together some bizarre outfits lately.

This is a costume from a ballet recital I did at age 5.

And I'm sure we all remember Indian dress-up day in Mrs. Nail's class.

Me with my stuff...

Matt with his.

Morgan is actually wearing Raggedy Ann's apron and a dress-up skirt as "hair".

Emma tries to walk on Morgan's back too.

Dumpters Chair Restoration

Thought I'd write a quick post about the chair Ashleigh found in the dumpster behind our friends' house. It had a broken arm and was in pretty bad shape, but the upolstery was still in good condition. I reattached the arm and stained the wood, and viola! Here it is.
